Inspect the Seal: Verify that the EPDM or Viton gasket is free of micro-cracks and fits perfectly into the male/liner groove.
Align the Pipes: Ensure the welded pipe sections are perfectly aligned. Misalignment will cause uneven pressure on the seal.
Hand Tighten First: Thread the union nut onto the male part by hand to prevent cross-threading.
Use a Spanner: Use a specialized C-spanner (hook wrench) engaging the slots on the nut to apply final tightening torque without damaging the fitting exterior.
