The Sanitary TC Standard
In the sanitary pipe fitting industry, the outer diameter (OD) of the Tri-Clamp ferrule flange is standardized. Both 1-inch and 1.5-inch sanitary tubes use the exact same 50.5mm (1.984 inches) outer flange. This means a 1.5-inch clamp and gasket will fit perfectly on a 1-inch connection. However, when you step up to a 2-inch sanitary pipe, the Tri-Clamp flange OD increases to 64mm (2.516 inches).
Structural Integrity: The stainless steel plate with perforated holes (0.5-3mm) acts as the rigid backbone of the filter element. Because this strainer handles up to 10 Bar of working pressure, a fine wire mesh alone would tear or collapse under the fluid force.
Fine Filtration: The 100-mesh screen is layered tightly over (or inside) the perforated tube. The mesh captures the microscopic solids, while the perforated cylinder absorbs all the mechanical stress of the high-velocity fluid.
