Washdown Compatibility & Corrosion Resistance
In food, dairy, and pharmaceutical plants, equipment is subjected to daily high-pressure washdowns using harsh caustic and acidic foaming cleaners. Standard aluminium actuators will quickly oxidise, pit, and shed paint or metal flakes into the cleanroom environment. A full stainless steel actuator is completely immune to these cleaning chemicals, ensuring long-term structural integrity and maintaining a sterile, rust-free exterior.
Normally Closed (NC): Spring-return to the closed position. Uses air to open. It acts as a fail-safe to shut off the fluid if air pressure is lost.
Normally Open (NO): Spring-return to the open position. Uses air to close. Ideal for critical cooling lines.
Double Acting / Air-to-Air (AA): Uses compressed air to both open and close the valve. It provides maximum torque but lacks a mechanical spring fail-safe. (Note: Do not confuse this with "gas" lines; it operates purely on compressed plant air.)
